As farmers markets wind down for the season, we've noticed that one of the most common questions we get is, "So how to I eat this sauerkraut?" We'll continue to post full recipes, but want to give you some quick and easy ideas as inspiration. If you have ways you love to eat your Black and White Kraut, we'd love to hear them!

Eat it straight from the jar! This one seems a bit obvious, but sauerkraut is fantastic when you're craving a salty snack. Instead of grabbing for the bag of chips, have a few bites of kraut instead. Or eat both; we won't judge.

Add it to a garden salad- Kraut is a quick and easy way to zest up a green salad. You can even use the leftover brine in salad dressing.

Put it on sausage- This is one of our more traditional answers, but kraut really does taste delicious on sausages. Try it on a hotdog or your favorite vegetarian substitute. I personally love kraut on a Tofurky Chick'n Apple sausages.

Spice up a sandwich or wrap- Reubens are the most common kraut sandwich, but it can make any sandwich or wrap taste better. The texture also adds a very satisfying crunch. 

Scrambled eggs- Sauerkraut is an amazing topping for scrambled eggs. It's an easy, nutritious meal to whip up quickly. 

On a cracker- Kraut can make a delicious and simple appetizer. Chop it up and put it on a cracker or piece of toast with a piece of cheese or or salami. It will be sure to impress your friends.
